lifestyle of the Wilderness National Park Lake district. The Fairy Knowe Hotel is situated on the banks of the Touw River in the Wilderness National Park Lake District, in the scenic Garden Route of South Africa. The Hotel is only 20 minutes drive
from the airport at George, and central to all tourist
attractions.
Enjoy direct access from the Hotel to one of the 18 remaining indigenous forests in the world either by nature trail or river. Here the vegetation can
be seen in its natural environment where trees are marked for easy identification. There
is also an 800 year old Yellowwood Big Tree nearby. We also have an Indigenous Tree Trail on the Hotel property.
A birders paradise with 280 species where the Knysna Loerie is a daily visitor. Our only permanent residents are Oliver and Olivia, who are Cape Spotted Eagle Owls.
Step out of
your riverside room where you can enjoy freshwater fishing on your doorstep. Other
recreational activities include the fun of boating, padelo’s, canoeing, mountain
biking and endless uncrowded beaches. Nearby there are World class golf courses, also
squash, bowls and paragliding. Opportunities also exist for seasonal land based whale
